Coming out from one of the many amazing events hosted by Foto Week DC, just left my friends Jeremy at Tegan in order to get home. Almost winter... so the wind blows my hair into my face making it stick to my lipstick, I hate that. But, I am enjoying myself looking at the store's windows now having BIG TIME SALES... and competing with one another for the most "snobbish" Christmas decoration.
I try to cross the street but a group of Asian guys in a car won't let me go unless I wish "Jull-e" a happy birthday... “Freaking drunkies...” we’ve all been there... she was turning 21, so I felt the obligation to do so. Also, I was freezing my ass. “Happy… freackin’ Bday Jull-E!"
Went up the street. A group of guys started shattering, abnormally loud, “Aussie, aussie, aussie.” I laugh, thinking about my times in the southern hemisphere. Turn around, and I jump into one of them, that with bloody hands tells me.... "I am stalking you." He was skinny... I thought, "I could take him," so... I wasn’t afraid. I thought he just got into a stupid fight. So I let them pass, pretending I am waiting for someone, turn around and I jump into Jeremy and Tegan... so glad they were there.
I guess I am a slow walker; I left ten minutes before them. But anyways, their car is right in front of mine… so they tell me. Coincidences... cause Georgetown is not small. They stop walking... and Jeremy says, "Have a great night Merquit, this is my car." I laugh, cause obviously, it wasn’t. There was somebody sleeping inside of it, and it didn’t look like somebody Jeremy would knew.
Jeremy continues joking around and saying goodbye... and I look at him, and said "That’s not your car dude, there is somebody there..." He laughs, skeptical. Turns around and freezes... “Hooolllyy Shiiitt.,” …knocks at the door.
She wakes up, (a Russian-looking old lady), cursing about the weather, the States, Jeremy and his car. She leaves mumbling some Russian nonsense. And departs. Tegan says, "so.... that’s why we lock our cars," добро пожаловать to DC!
Nothing happened to me, just a freaking crazy episode, on a random night. Sorry, I shut the suspense. So that’s that.
P.S: My night started at the Ukranian Embassy where we sneaked in an invite-only reception, drink cheap wine, and “quietly” criticized the photos exhibited. Well… They were shit!!!!! I wonder if that had something to do with it?
Phototized Merquit.
